Tried to find an suitable place to post this, but since the above post
seemed to be reguarding Clinton County, and the season has ended.
After watching one of your videos Dave, pre Colegrove Memorial which got rained out the 1st time. I had plans to print this out and make sure it made it to the hands of the track promoter. As I'm sure it's been suggested many many MANY times. But no doubt, ever going to fit the tracks budget...
Well I ran into Eric Palski one day and told him about my idea. He imediatly liked it, and said I should foward the information and my feelings about it. That is, without even seeing my drawing.. lol O.O
It's pretty bad, I'm not to savy with windows paint. Recently there's been a twist in my idea, but unfortunately probably too late. Moran industries has purchased a property here in Williamsport and scheduled for demolition. It's been bid out to an out of town contractor at the tune of about $200,000. As opposed to a local contractor, Lycoming supply who had bid $800,000. What a huge difference? This being, It's my belief the winning bidder has made arrangements or plans to Recycle most of these structures. Which are for the most part, solid block on the 1st floor. I'm talking about Kennedy King Manor, once owned by The Williamsport Housing Authority. I've done work in several of the units for several different contractors, Including Daves Heating. (David Himmelrich)
When I worked for him Is when I first went to Clinton County. It was quite some years ago. My discussion with Eric was about the demolition of these properties, and the fate of all of those cinder blocks. Out of 8-9 Structures I think there is? There would certainly be enough to salvage, clean, and reuse for a stinkin wall. That is, if they we're willing to part with them, and if there we're enough 'Volunteers' with race car trailers to haul them upto the track.
What a crazy Idea right? Well, since they only have 90 days for the demo. And the season is over, I doubt anything like this could be organized. But here is a rough draft of a different type of block, probably much more expensive and no doubt, ever going to happen....
The poles behind the wall serve a diffinative purpose to allow some 'play'
on impact. The fence could also boast great oportunity for advertisers. |
